Hendrix and the Hedgehog, the short story I wrote in 2020 about my micro-preemie grandson’s fight for life, was fairly well received and eventually made it into the public library systems of North and West Vancouver where I grew up.
My other grandkids were jealous of Hendrix, and they wanted to be in a book too. I could hardly say no. I decided to create a story in which all the grandkids could be together in a collective adventure. To maintain a continuous theme between books, I kept Hendrix as the main protagonist. This new story is loosely based upon bed-time tales I invented and told to their parents (my two kids) when they were young. They always seemed to enjoy them, and hopefully now other readers will too.
